Ockley Dramatic Society was formed in 1948. As you will see from our list of productions, for many years we produced a spring and an autumn production, although recently our ever ambitious pantomimes have meant that we have put all of our resources into a single pantomime production of seven performances.
To celebrate our Platinum Anniversary we are delighted to reintroduce a summer production with an evening of light comedy in a double bill:
"A world without men" by Philip Johnson recreates one of our plays from 1948. The play has aged really well and we think you will enjoy this gentle comedy.
"Half an idea" is a play we first performed in 1992 and was written especially for us by the late Bob Larbey, who was a resident of Ockley. Those of you of a certain age will recall television comedies such as The Good Life, Please Sir, Ever Decreasing Circles, Mulberry, As Time Goes By and A Fine Romance, which were either written jointly or solely by Bob. Bobís late wife Trish was also a former member of ODS.
There will be just two performances on Friday evening 15th June and Saturday evening 16th June with a cold supper in the interval.
Box Office: 01306 628255.
Doors open 7:00pm. Curtain up: 7:30pm.
There's plenty of room for new faces in a variety of roles on and off the stage. See our contact page for an application form or to send a message to our Secretary.
